Why Do You Need a Visa Letter of Invitation?

Often these letters are notarized by a notary public because the government of the country will often analyze these visa letters of invitation to determine whether the applicant in fact has a legitimate interest in visiting the country and does not want to simply be an illegal alien and try to illegally work or commit crimes.  The government is thus assured that the writer of the Letter of Invitation will take responsibility for the visa applicant.
