Wedding Invitation Letter
Wedding is an auspicious occasion. Every person wants their closed ones to be the part of their wedding ceremony. They generally send wedding invitation letters to invite guests to attend the wedding. It is typically sent 6 to 8 weeks before the wedding. The text of a wedding invitation differs according to country, culture and language.
Two tenses are used within the invitation letter, the present and the future. The present tense communicates information about the wedding and the future tense makes sure that the guest is going to attend.
Following points should be taken in mind while writing invitation letters for a wedding:
The invitation letter mentions all the information about the wedding.
Invitation letter should be written in a positive tone and clear information should be provided.
The date, address, and time of the wedding need to be clearly stated in the invitation letter. All the important ceremonies need to be mentioned in the invitation letter.
What type of dress is appropriate or preferred can be stated with the invitation letter.
Your invitation letter should be sent in advance so that the attendees can modify their prior commitments accordingly.
The phone number is generally specified in the invitation letter so that better communication can be maintained.
The invitation varies slightly in the western countries. Similar etiquette is shared by the countries formerly belonging to a Kingdom or an Empire. This is the case in Latin America. For wedding invitations, etiquette is very much similar to French, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish. Formal invitation is written with the names of parents from both sides in these countries: the brides parents' full names, with their titles, are placed on the top left corner, while the groom's parents' names are placed on the right.
Mr. [father of the bride] / Mrs. [mother of the bride] / along with / Mr. [father of the groom]/ Mrs. [mother of the groom]/ is delighted to invite you to the wedding of their children/ [Bride's name] and [Groom's name]
